NATALIA KATYUKOVA
pianist | coach | collaborator
  • “Natalia Katyukova was a poised tiger at the piano, responding to the singer’s nuances with her own powerful inflections. One was never aware of two artists at work, because their shaping was unified in a single vision.”
  • “Katyukova is a formidable artist, in the big, Romantic, Russian manner and her
    sensibilities matched Appleby’s exuberance
    and color.”
  • “Natalia Katyukova brought exuberance
    to the harpsichord accompaniments
    of the recitatives”
  • "Throughout, pianist Natalia Katyukova was a fine accompanist. She played with pearly tone and a delicate ear to Terfel’s musical line, echoing him and supplying her own feathery support.”

“...working and making music on world concert stages with Natalia has been an absolute revelation. I knew she was good and incredibly talented but she is also super studious and immaculately well prepared in all my varied programmes. She is also calm and collected under the pressures of live performance which for me is a delight as I can be a chameleon on that stage and know she always has my back..."

"...to conduct production rehearsals whilst she is at the piano is to have the soul of the most benevolent, curious, extraordinary orchestra enshrined into her sound and attitude. Natalia is one of the most hard working, deep-thinking musicians I have ever come across - she lives music to the extent that every word, every note, every breath counts..."
Robin Ticciati

“...working with Natalia has been one of the biggest joys ever. The depth of her musicianship and knowledge is truly inspiring and her playing was so beautiful I sometimes forgot to start my own phrases. She is also one of the loveliest people, extremely sensitive and supportive and very funny...."
